Dr. Jason Heald is an active conductor, performer, clinician, and college professor in the Pacific Northwest. Heald is a prolific composer, with works published by ChoralWeb,

Publications, Plymouth Music,
and northwestboroughmusic.
With twenty-five years of experience as a professional studio arranger and musician, Heald's diverse musical experience and knowledge add a fresh originality to his compositions. Recent premieres and
commissions include performances by the Olympia Chamber Orchestra, Soundmoves, and the Tapestry String Quartet.
Dr. Heald was the winner of the Grand Prize at the 2004 Cascadian Choral Composition Competition and was recently selected as a finalist in the Ithaca College Choral Composition Competition. He also has been the recipient of several ASCAP Awards.
Heald holds a Ph.D. in composition from the University of Oregon and is Chairman of the Fine and Performing Arts Department at Umpqua Community College. He currently directs the critically acclaimed vocal jazz ensemble, the Umpqua Singers, the featured performers at the 2002 Capitol Holiday Tree lighting ceremony in Washington D.C. He also conducts the Jubilate Choir at the First Presbyterian Church in Roseburg, Oregon.
